Dolby has announced Dolby Vision 2 at IFA 2025. This major update to the HDR standard uses AI and a new engine to significantly improve picture quality.
Its core feature is Content Intelligence, which includes:
· Precision Black for better detail in dark scenes.
· Light Sense to auto-adjust the picture to a room’s lighting.
· Authentic Motion to reduce judder without the “soap opera effect.”
· Enhanced optimization for gaming and sports.
It will launch in two tiers: a Max version for premium TVs and a standard version for mainstream sets. Hisense will be the first manufacturer to include it, and CANAL+ will be an early content supporter. Widespread adoption will take time, especially among brands like Samsung that don’t support Dolby Vision.
